Earlier this year, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Victoria began its voluntary undertaking of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards assessment. Given the unique conditions under which we operate, it was decided for our approach to be phased in nature. Flying Doctor Telehealth (FDT) was chosen as one of the first services to take part in the audit process.
It is with a great sense of pride and gratitude to our partner clinics and clinicians that we can tell you that RFDS Victoria has successfully achieved National Standards accreditation for the Telehealth program. While unable to get to all 117 FDT sites, our auditor was able to visit Kerang and Prahran and was impressed by the quality of service she witnessed.
In line with these standards, all FDT patients now receive information about their healthcare rights with a link to the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights in SMS reminders. This is to let all our clients know what they can expect as a healthcare patient, including their rights and responsibilities in receiving care in Australia. Telehealth is a team effort, made possible by our partner clinics and dedicated clinicians. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks and ‘well done!’ to all of our partners, and look forward to continuing to provide a high-quality client experience into the future.
