Dr Raymond Chan is an Addiction Medicine Physician. He has been working in the public health system for over 20 years, having previously worked at Turning Point, Monash Health and Peninsula Health. He has a special interest in pain medicine. Dr Chan is available to see patients with difficult chronic pain problems, opioid medication reviews and substance dependence or misuse issues.
Dr Anthony Dortimer is a highly qualified Interventional Cardiologist with an interest in all types of adult and adolescent cardiology and a particular interest in patients with coronary artery disease and hypertension. He completed his advanced training at Penn State University Medical Centre (USA) and continues to work at the Austin Hospital and Warringal Hospital in Melbourne for his public and private patients.
Rebecca is an Endocrinologist at Baker Institute in Footscray. She is engaged in research at Monash University and Monash Health in Women’s Health, healthy pregnancy and diabetes in pregnancy. She is interested in caring for patients with a variety of endocrine conditions.
Dr Natalie Nanayakkara’s clinical practice includes general endocrinology and diabetes, with a special interest in type 2 diabetes. Natalie actively participates in endocrine research: participating in clinical trials, assisting in the formulation of national guidelines and educational programs, and publications in peer-reviewed diabetes and endocrine journals. She is currently completing a PhD examining age related differences in the pathophysiology and management of diabetes and its complications.
Dr Kavita Kumareswaran joined Baker Institute as Consultant Endocrinologist in 2013. She is Consultant Head of the Diabetes Foot Service at Western Health, runs the insulin pump clinic at The Alfred and holds an Adjunct Lecturer post with Monash University. Kavita manages diabetes, thyroid, osteoporosis, reproductive, obesity, adrenal and pituitary disorders. She has a special interest in the application of technology to manage diabetes including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
Dr Aye Nyein Tint has a great interest in treating diabetes and its complications. Her special interest is in taking care of people with diabetic foot ulcers and prevention of lower limb amputation. She is currently appointed as a consultant endocrinologist for Diabetic Foot Service at Austin Hospital and also works as a specialist diabetes physician in Baker Diabetes clinic at Footscray.
Dr Ramila Varendran is a geriatrician who provides assistance with managing patients with multiple co-morbidities that result in functional decline associated with age. Ramila has a particular interest in dementia, osteoporosis, reducing polypharmacy and advanced care planning.
Dr Brian Timms works as a general paediatrician in Melbourne, and has extensive training in neonatology with an active interest in newborn babies. His other interests include general paediatrics (asthma, irritable babies, tongue tie, poor weight gain, feeding issues, feed refusal, sleeping issues, chronic abdominal pain), developmental paediatrics including the assessment and diagnosis of autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioural issues and adolescent issues.
Dr Santhusha Wijekoon has 15 years’ experience in Psychiatry, and 10 years working in Psychiatry in Australia. Santhusha has worked across metropolitan and rural mental health units. For the last 5 years Santhusha has been working in Mildura. Santhusha is an adult and youth friendly Psychiatrist (above 18 years old). Her interests are rural Psychiatry with specialist interest in mood, anxiety disorders and ADHD.
Dr Bhavanishankar is a Consultant Psychiatrist, trained in the United Kingdom and Australia. He works closely with GPs and Allied Health practitioners to provide realistic and best possible outcomes in treatment and recovery of people with mental illness. His areas of interest include early intervention, mood disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders. He is also an Assessor for permanent impairment of work capacity. He has extensive experience in working with people form diverse backgrounds and is a fluent speaker of Hindi and Kannada.
Dr Melyse Jung is a specialist in psychiatry of older age, working exclusively with patients over the age of 65. She completed her psychiatry training in Melbourne and has worked in psychiatry of old age within the public health system since 2007. Melyse’s experience covers all aspects of geriatric psychiatry including mood disorders, anxiety, chronic and late onset schizophrenia, and neurocognitive disorders. She has a particular interest in management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
Dr James Le Bas is a generalist psychiatrist with a history of work in community psychiatry and psychotherapy. Dr Le Bas is also an adjunct senior lecturer in the Department of Psychological Medicine at Monash University. James’ strengths include assessment and communication.
Dr Ana-Louise Martin has been a doctor for 25 years, starting out as a General Practitioner in New Zealand. Ana-Louise has been working in Australia’s public mental health system since 2004, currently in a busy mental health out patient clinic in Melbourne. Ana-Louise believes in recovery centered, holistic approach, enabling joint decision making in treatment planning with clients. She has special interests in lifestyle medicine and nutritional psychiatry, working to empower her clients in their health and wellbeing.
Dr Paul Fogarty is a Respiratory Physician who has been active in private and public specialist practice for over 20 years in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. His private rooms are based at Epworth Eastern Hospital in Box Hill, and he is a visiting Respiratory Physician at Box Hill Hospital. He is chairman of the Eastern Health Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Group and is a partner in the sleep laboratory at Epworth Eastern Hospital. Paul has extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of Respiratory Medicine including asthma, COPD, lung cancer and sleep apnoea.
